Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and you will reach Muir woods. Muir woods National Monument, 12 miles north of Golden Gate Bridge, is reached via U.S. 101 and Calif. Hwy.1. The park is open 8 a.m. to sunset year round. As you move down towards Muir woods, you can see a landscape which is very old, here; Coast Miwok Indians lived centuries ago. You will get plenty of time to see the redwood creek, Cathedral and Bohemian Groves and Redwoods which are 500 to 800 year old.

This specialized forest had a range of plants and animals adapted to the low light and moist conditions. In Redwood forest you can see animals like owls, bats and raccoons which are seen mostly at night. Some birds like warblers, kinglets and thrushes migrate through Muir woods, but winter wrens live here year around. Some of the rare reptiles and amphibians like western garter snakes, rubber boas and California giant salamanders can be seen here.

The next stop is Sausalito which is over 100 years old. You can see bayside marinas; downtown plaza, open air cafes, boutiques and art galleries make Sausalito unforgettable. Other features include waterfront inns, main street hotels and a new five star resort. It offers easy bay access and the most scenic backdrops. Return to San Francisco, via Golden Gate Bridge.

In case of illness or delayed flight or travel arrangements it would be better if you purchase travel insurance because you never know. The travel insurance must be redeemed at least 30 minutes prior to the tour with notification via phone.

If you give us at least 48 hours of notice that you cannot attend the tour, and the tour you booked was on a Sunday-Thursday, we can give you a reserved seat on another tour. You can make this reservation in advance by telephone. You have to pay $12.50 per person (cash only) as a change fee. No refunds for customers lost or displaced from group during tours.
