The main attraction is the Golden Gate Bridge. This connects Marion County and is a beautiful place to walk, cycle or drive along.

   There is also the Golden Gate Park near it. It has thousand acres of gardens with lakes and walkways. You also have the Japanese Tea Garden.

   The Exploratorium is the best museum in San Francisco. It has many exhibits dealing with science, arts and human perception. There are as many as 650 exhibits which say, "Please touch".

   The Fisherman's Wharf overlooks the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. This is a working fishing pier and all the restaurants serve fresh sea food.

   The Alcatraz Island is also a great tourist attraction. Prisoners were housed here and it is still a place of great interest.

   The best way to see the city of San Francisco would be by the famous cable cars. These travel along century old routes, seven days a week. There are three routes. To tour around the city you can take the California street line which takes you through the Financial District, through China town, and over Nob Hill. The two other lines - the Powell-Mason line and the Powell-Hyde line stop at Fisherman's Wharf. The brown and white stop sign is the place to board the cable cars.

   Chinatown in San Francisco is a place that should not be missed, as it has a unique ethnic and cultural value. There is a dragon draped archway between the Bush and Grant streets. This is the entrance to Chinatown. The streets are full of shops that cater to the visitors. There are many eateries, fish and vegetable stalls, temples and herbal shops that attract visitors.

   Alamo Square has a picturesque view and there are many Victorian homes amidst tall skyscrapers. You also have Lombard Street, which is the world's most crooked street.

   From Fisherman's Wharf you can take a 'red and white' ferry ride to Sausalito. It is a half an hour ride. The view is the San Francisco Bay is beautiful and Sausalito has many attractive outdoor cafes and small shops.

   The North Beach is the Italian neighborhood of San Francisco. You can take a stroll and enjoy the place with its eateries and bookshops.
